We had a direct flight from Blenheim to Auckland, and once again, there was no security. Walk in the airport, walk out to plane. Amazing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at the domestic terminal in Auckland around noon. It was a long walk to the international terminal, where we checked our bags and had lunch. We took the bus into Auckland. Would have taken the train, but it was not running.
It was a short walk from the bus stop downtown to the ferry terminal. We are always up for a boat ride. The ticket agent suggested we go to Devonport, and so we did. The ride was about 10 minutes and the ferries run every 30 minutes. We sat an outside table and had dinner, before taking the ferry and the bus back to the airport. Our Air New Zealand flight left for Honolulu at 10:30pm. We crossed the international date line and so had New Years\u2019s Day twice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
